LORETO SAFARI - SEA, MOUNTAINS AND CULTURE — 4 days - 3 nights
Loreto: Unveiling a destination full of experiences, hidden gems, and thrilling expeditions.
This adventure promises an all-encompassing exploration of Loreto, granting you access to its myriad perspectives like never before. Experience Baja California as early explorers did, when mules or rafts were the fastest way to get from point A to point B. Even today, there are many hidden spots on this peninsula where a 4x4 vehicle or yacht would not be able to take us.
Located between the imposing mountains of the Sierra de la Giganta and the impressive Gulf of California, Loreto is the gateway to one of the national marine parks in Mexico. Islands, shorelines, and waters provide critical nesting and feeding habitat for more than 20 threatened species of birds, fish, mammals, reptiles, plants, and other life. Its widely varied ecosystems support tremendous levels of both terrestrial and marine biodiversity, including various animals and plants found nowhere else in the world.

THE ADVENTURE
Throughout our expedition, we have the privilege of living and dining in ranches and missions near the region, providing a unique opportunity to step back in time. We have the chance to sleep on the slopes of the mountains, in cozy cabins, or suites conveniently located near downtown Loreto.
While this place stands as one of the most beautiful and isolated spots on the peninsula, it remains accessible for those daring to explore from a different perspective. The charm of these locations is incomparable, perhaps beyond belief for some, as many areas lack electricity or phone signal. Thus, we can genuinely immerse ourselves in the experience, embracing the surroundings and the night sky while counting stars.
This adventure will allow you to disconnect from everyday life and discover new places, cultures and species, enriching your life with unique experiences.
During this safari we explore the coasts of Loreto and Mulegé with local captains who have more than 25 years of experience in these waters. This region offers one of the best environments to encounter marine mammals, thanks to the abundance of food and the great variety of habitats. Consequently, we can observe over 30 species of resident and migratory marine mammals, which constitute 75% of those that occur on the coasts of Mexico. Loreto is considered to have the highest number of marine mammals nationwide.
We also explore the waters of Bahía Concepción, the largest in Baja California. It is an authentic natural paradise and one of the most beautiful bays in the country, located just a few minutes south of Mulegé. Here, we can bask in the beauty of pristine sandy beaches and turquoise waters. This site gives us the opportunity to get to know in depth what the life of the ancient fishermen was like, being able to learn about their customs, artisanal fishing gear and shell collection, just as our native Indians, the Cochimies and Guaycuras, did.
Our local captains will guide us through islands and beaches of an infinite range of colours of blue and turquoise, while we look for those productive corners to find resident and migratory wildlife and, in turn, free-diving for fresh clams.
On this adventure, we also embark on a journey through the sierras, canyons and oases around Loreto, accompanied by local ranchers and cowboys. With their guidance and the assistance of their mules, we can explore incredible remote locations nestled amid the mountains and canyons. These excursions allow us to deploy camera traps, which aid us in monitoring wildlife in the area.
