At Baja Adventures, we collaborate with the Nakawe Project to promote conservation efforts in the stunning Baja California peninsula. Together, we focus on protecting critical ecosystems and wildlife while engaging local communities through sustainable tourism practices. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit active since 2014, the Nakawe Project is dedicated to preserving biodiversity and addressing environmental challenges like climate change and overfishing.
Their initiatives include community engagement, educational programs, and research aimed at fostering healthier ecosystems.Nakawe has partnered with impactful films and documentaries such as Sharkwater Extinction by Rob Stewart and FIN by Eli Roth and Leonardo DiCaprio, raising awareness about marine conservation. They also work towards the inclusion of species on Appendix II of CITES and influence international policy.
Complementing these efforts, Baja Adventures offers regenerative tourism experiences that allow participants to explore the natural beauty of Baja while contributing to conservation. Together, we provide unique opportunities for travelers to engage in wildlife monitoring through camera trapping and photo ID programs, connect with local ranchers and captains, and participate in hands-on conservation activities.
Through our collaboration with Nakawe, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of protecting Baja's unique biodiversity and inspire action among visitors and locals alike. Join us in making a positive impact on this beautiful region while creating unforgettable memories on your adventure!
